Charlotte, NC. - Seeking to provide high-quality entertainment products to an audience estimated at more than 75 million NASCAR racing enthusiasts, NASCAR Images and Shoreline Media Group (SMG) have announced a marketing agreement for the sales and distribution of NASCAR-produced VHS and DVD home video titles. The long-term partnership, which will result in the release of its first title in time for December's holiday season, will focus on reaching the enthusiastic and growing NASCAR fan-base via a specially-created direct distribution system.

SMG, a Santa Monica, Calif.-based home entertainment company specializing in sports and entertainment home video properties, will provide NASCAR Images with comprehensive marketing and distribution channels for NASCAR DVD and video products. In addition, SMG will provide sales support with a turn-key fulfillment system that incorporates design, packaging, marketing, duplication, product warehousing and order fulfillment via a special 800 number and e-commerce sales, including it's website (

The newly created products will be produced by Charlotte-based NASCAR Images, a joint venture of Fox Cable Networks and NASCAR Digital Entertainment. Developed exclusively for the home entertainment market, the productions will feature a wide variety of NASCAR-themed programming and utilize the award-winning production, editing and soundtrack values that helped popularize NASCAR broadcast coverage by FOX, FX, NBC and TNT. In a unique multi-tiered launch strategy, the products will initially be available only via direct sales and the Internet. Extensive national advertising featuring full-page, four-color print ads in such targeted publications as NASCAR Winston Cup Scene, Four Wheel and Off-Road and Circle Track, will accompany the launch of each new title. Consumers will also have access to the NASCAR products on and sites.

The first official home video product release is set for pre-sales on October 15, 2002, and is expected to comprise a high-energy look at the 2002 NASCAR Winston Cup season. Current plans call for new product releases to follow every three to four months thereafter.
